Edna Ruth Ryan
Resident of Half Moon Bay

Born 19 January 1919 in Lodi, California; Edna was the last surviving child born to Kathrine and William Schneider. Edna passed away at home peacefully on 17th August 2012.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Ryan; and children La Dona Nolan, Richard William Ryan, Robert William Ryan and Lorna Crocker.
Edna grew up in Lodi and the surrounding areas and making the Bay Area home with her husband and children. Retiring in Lodi, CA, they enjoyed many years together in their warm home and were blessed with family reunions at Lodi Lake.
Edna was blessed to be healthy and active in all her years; living a full life and continued to keep her own home, enjoyed her garden and all the birds. Crocheting blankets for her great grandchildren. An avid homemaker, Edna was famous for her pickles, jams, jellies and many delicious baked goods and meals. Edna read the daily paper, did the word puzzles and enjoyed her magazines and loved her Giants.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Clarice LaTerra (Michael), Ellen Rolleri (Albert), Lynda Carey, Cathryne Ryan and Julie Ryan. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom, thank you for the many years, and countless lessons. For the special gift you shared with us in this last year, of continuing to teach us one of the most important lesson in life; to continue in grace until the moment you are called home.
We wish heartfelt thank you to Sutter VNA and Hospice of San Mateo; for the excellent care and compassion during Mom's last months.
Private committal service at Golden Gate National Cemetery; where her ashes will join her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, a donation, to the donor's favorite charity is preferred.
