Harvey Koepf of Half Moon Bay passed away unexpectedly on Nov 10, 2018. He will be missed by family and everyone who knew him..

Harvey was born in 1933 in Alhambra, Calif;, and attended grade school there. He then moved with his parents to Seattle, Wash., and then to Burlingame Calif;
where he graduated from Burlingame High School. He earned his Bachelor degree at Williamette University in Salem, Ore.

His first teaching job was in Salem, at Serra High School. He moved to Half Moon Bay in 1968 and taught at Cunha Intermediate School and coached baseball at
Half Moon Bay High School. His interest and experience in baseball started during high school and college years when he was a catcher. He continued to play
baseball in the summers in the Oregon Coast League. Later he signed with the San Francisco Giants as a miner league manager. He moved to scouting with the San Diego Padres and later with the Detroit Tigers.

At each stage of his life, Harvey was an enthusiastic participant and looked forward to what adventures each day would bring. He enjoyed traveling, being out-doors, playing baseball, coaching, biking thousands of miles along the coast, and sailing in the San Juan Islands. Whenever he traveled, through, he was always happy to return home to Half Moon Bay.

Parents Faith and Fred Koepf and only brother Monti preceded him in death. He leaves behind his wife and constant companion of 50 years, Mary Ann Koepf, his
sister in-law Patricia Koepf, his son Michael Koepf and daughter in-law Susie Koepf, daughter Kathryn Rippey, three grandsons, James and Mason Rippey and
Sean Koepf and wife, Pam Koepf, and Greg Koepf and wife, Anne Koepf.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. If you would like to honor Harvey's memory, please make a donation to your favorite Coastside charity.
