So sorry to hear about Bud passing. He was the minister at our wedding 14 years ago and we will never forget him.

My name is Kathleen Riordan. I never met Bud but I have known of him probably my whole life. His grandparents (Mary or Girlie and Will Andre) were related to my Grandfather Ben R. Riordan Sr. Ben and Girlie were brother and sister. I am very interested in family history and am checking on line whenever I have access. I had heard rumors that we had another priest in the family besides Msgr. H.G Riordan. I guessed his name might be the same as his father's and I have found him today. I am so very sorry it could not have been several months ago as I would have been so happy to exchange letters etc. with him. I live in Idaho most of the year and Kansas the rest. I knew about most of my grandfather's family and some of the next and now some of the 2nd cousins etc. I would love to correspond with any of your branch of the family that might be interested in family ties and researching our shared history. I am on facebook and I have at least 2 email addresses. I am so, so sorry to have missed what sounds like a wonderful man In this life and I look forward to meeting him in the next. I will add him to my prayers. Sincerely, Kathleen (

I've known Bub since we were freshmen at St. Joseph's Seminary. Joe McMahon, Bud, and I went on summer vacations together -- Lake Valley, Bear Lake, visiting missions, trees, caves, sitting at campfires, solving world problems, asking the great questions. I live with the certainty of his earned salvation

You were my best supervisor and long time friend. I'm so glad we stayed in contact after you and I retired from probation. I miss our philosophical discussions. RIP, Jim Duffy

I met Bud in 1973 when we attended (he from San Mateo and myself from Placer county) a week-long probation officer's training class in Asilomar. I could see right away he was a special man. He had a positive attitude toward his new career and I enjoyed recreating with him every night after class. My deepest condolences to Bud's family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Bud. During this difficult time may your family find comfort in the fulfillment of His promise at John 6:40 where we are promised the hope of being reunited with our loved ones again on a earthly paradise.
